The chief executive of Airbus, Fabrice Bregier, said its new A350 commercial plane won't be held back three years like Boeing Co.'s (BA) 787 Dreamliner, the FT said late Sunday.
Airbus had revised its delivery date of the A350 to June 2014 from the middle of 2013 over issues with component suppliers. Bregier said, according to the FT, he's willing to take the bet that there's be no three-year delay and the new addition will do better "than market consensus believes we will do."
